TIG Kht. was established on January 1^st.1995. The company is leasing its empty warehouses and depots, but its main task is to maintain and manage the economic security material reserves of Hungary. Stockpile is to be used as a basic supply to the civil population in emergency situations such as market disruption caused by any number of reasons, including natural or man-made disasters.

The Inter-Ministry Committee is a formal committee established by the Hungarian Government that decides quantity, composition and utilization of all economic security reserves.

The firm's primary responsibility consists of purchasing and storing stockpiles of grain, flour, sugar, seeds, coal and means of defense in disasters - and selling them when required. Other responsibilities include storing intervention grain stocks and leasing its empty warehouses and depots.

TIG Kht. has an infrastructure network that covers the entire country. As green-field investment, it has built dozens of large modern warehouses capable and highly suitable for storing large volumes of different types of goods, materials, including facilitation of production activity.
